Laryngology Conference 2014

6 January 2014

Dear Colleagues

It gives me great pleasure, on behalf of the newly formed Laryngology Society of Australasia, to invite you to the Laryngology Conference 2014. Laryngology encompasses airway, voice and swallowing disorders and is one of the fastest growing sub-specialities in Otolaryngology today.

Three outstanding international keynotes speakers have been invited, Dr Fred Dikkers from Groningen, the Netherlands, Dr Jean Abitbol from Paris and Claudio Milstein from the USA. We are certain that their contributions, along with our local presenters, will ensure the conference provides an excellent opportunity to become informed and share with one another the latest developments and research findings in this field.

Some of the topics that will be discussed include: Phonosurgery, in-office procedures, medical management of complex laryngeal conditions, voice and dysphagia assessment and therapy, regenerative medicine, complex airway management, vocal cord dysfunction and neurolaryngeal disorders.

We have decided to break away from the mainland merry-go-round and are holding the meeting in Hobart, Tasmania and part of our program will include a cocktail party in the amazing MONA - a treat for those who haven't seen it yet and for those returning.

The Organising Committee of the Laryngology Conference 2014 is now inviting submission of abstracts for inclusion in the Conference Scientific Program.

For more information regarding the conference, please visit our conference website

On behalf of the Laryngology Society of Australasia, we look forward to meeting you at the conference in 2014.

Dr Malcolm Baxter, President of LSA
Ms Debbie Phyland, Secretary of LSA
