The LSA is Australasia’s leading authority on diseases of the throat. It is a recognised forum for research and debate for medical professionals, a recognised source of expert opinion and the place where the general public will go for direction and expertise.
Membership is open to all medical, scientific and health-focused professionals interested in diseases of the larynx. Members receive the following benefits as part of their annual subscription.

Membership Categories
Open to:
Recognised medical specialists who are Fellows of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Otolaryngology –Head and Neck Surgery (hereafter referred to as OHNS), or who hold an equivalent qualification and are recognised as a specialist in OHNS in Australia or New Zealand by the Australian Medical Council or the Medical Council of New Zealand AND are Members in good standing of the Australasian Society of Otolaryngology –Head & Neck Surgery or the New Zealand Society of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery.
Speech Pathologists who are eligible to be members of Speech Pathology Australia or the New Zealand Society Speech-Language Therapists Association.
to approved Persons working as Voice Scientists in Australia or New Zealand.
Open to:
Overseas ENTs and speech pathologists along with voice scientists or other medical professionals outside OHNS with an interest in Laryngology or person who does not meet the above criteria providing that they have a connection to Laryngology in Australasia – subject to approval by the Society Board.
Open to:
Medical/surgical or speech pathology trainees.
Open to:
From time to time the Board may propose persons to membership who do not meet the above criteria providing that person has a connection to Laryngology.
Specialists practising in Specialities other than OHNS or Speech Pathology may be so considered under this category.
Membership Application
New applicants are required to complete an application form including the provision of information regarding qualifications and training. When all who satisfy the criteria for membership are approved and the fee is paid, the person will be accepted as a member, unless there is an objection from the Executive, in which case the decision must be decided by a vote of the membership at the next AGM/EGM. If a member allows their membership to lapse for one year, they will need to renominate / rejoin prior to being accepted as a member

Applicants must nominate themselves for membership by completing the electronic nomination form.
No sponsorship is required, but membership is subject to approval by the Executive and ratification by an AGM/EGM
Applications are submitted online.
Full membership - $143 inc GST per year**
Associate membership - $99 inc GST per year**
Trainee membership - $71.50 inc GST per year**
